The Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue mobile application does not collect, store, share, or sell any personal information about its users. Your use of this app is completely private.
1. Overview
Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue ("we," "our," or "the Department") operates a mobile application (the "App") for Android and iOS devices. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding user data — and specifically confirms that we do not engage in data collection of any kind.
This policy applies to all users of the App and satisfies the privacy disclosure requirements of the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect, access, transmit, or store any of the following:
- Name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
- Device identifiers, IP addresses, or advertising IDs
- Location data (GPS, Bluetooth, or network-based)
- Photos, files, or media from your device
- Usage analytics, crash reports, or diagnostic data
- Cookies, tracking pixels, or similar technologies
- Any biometric data or health information
3. Third-Party Data Sharing
Because we collect no user data, we have no user data to share, sell, or disclose. We do not share information with any third parties, advertisers, data brokers, or affiliated entities.
4. Third-Party Services & SDKs
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics platforms, advertising networks, or data-collection SDKs (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, or similar services).
5. Permissions & Notifications
The App offers an optional push notification feature that allows users to receive alerts and updates from Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue. To enable this feature, the App requests permission to send notifications through your device's operating system (Android or iOS).
Regarding your privacy:
- Notifications are entirely optional. You may decline or disable them at any time in your device settings without affecting other App functionality.
- Enabling notifications does not allow us to collect, store, or share any personal information about you.
- Device notification tokens used to deliver push messages are managed by the platform (Apple APNs / Google FCM) and are not used for tracking, advertising, or any purpose other than delivering Fire Rescue alerts.
- We do not build user profiles based on notification preferences or engagement.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for general public use. Because we collect no personal information from any user, we do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13, and there is no mechanism within the App to do so.
7. Data Security
No data is transmitted from your device to our servers or any external servers. As a result, there is no stored data that could be subject to a breach or unauthorized access.
8. Changes to This Policy
If our data practices change in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated and a new effective date will be posted. We encourage users to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
